During 2014, Inquisitive Minds have run Year 8 and 9 Talented Mathematicians Workshops in venues around NSW.
Last week, we ran one of these events for eighty students from seven different schools at Wagga Wagga RSL.
Students participated in a competitive lesson where they learnt a range of important problem solving strategies. Then, for the first time ever, we asked students to pair up with students from other schools for the hands-on problem solving competition.
Although this was a stretching experience for some, It was great to see so many students work really well alongside people that they had never met before!
Thanks to the teachers who participated so enthusiastically in the Workshop. A huge thankyou to the teachers and parents who travelled amazing distances to allow their students/children to be part of this fantastic experience! Also, many thanks to Wagga Wagga RSL - what a lovely venue to run the Workshop in!
